Poverty is a major issue in Uganda. Unlike many Western nations, there they have
no safety net. No welfare. No hope to get ahead.
The village we visited (seen above) makes and sells many crafts. They earn very little from this, but it generates some income and develops skills for the villagers. From that profit, they must earn enough to provide food for
themselves and their family. Plus, they need leftover money to buy supplies to sell the
next day.
It is nearly impossible to ever get ahead like this.
We can Make a Difference
One of our goals is to equip people with the infrastructure to be successful. We want to provide the means for them to make a profit each day and build up capital to get ahead.
To be able to afford to send their kids to school and break the cycle of poverty.
